Child Car Seat Safety Awareness

August 19, 2009

It is a great time to build awareness to Child Passenger Safety Week September 12-18. This week is to help inform parents about the importance and proper use and installation of car seats. While there are many car seats on the market today, we would like to bring to your attention a few of our recommendations. Rated #1 by a major national media magazine, the Chicco KeyFit 30 Infant car seat is considered the easiest to install. One of the first infant car seats rear facing up to 30 pounds. The thickly padded infant insert gives extra support for a smaller baby around the head, neck, back & bottom. Britax has many car seats to choose from, one of their newest and safest car seats is the Advocate CS. This convertible car seat features patented Side Impact Cushion Technology, which dramatically improves the safety of child seat occupants and their adjacent passengers in the event of a side impact crash. The Combi Coccoro infant car seat comes in fashionable colors and is compact enough to fit three on one rear seat or is better suited for smaller vehicles.  First Years True Fit convertible car seat has a lower center of gravity, which allows for a deeper, taller, and wider seating area without making the seat bigger on the outside. A Safety Advocate favorite, the Britax Roundabout car seat was recently featured on a YouTube video. Credited for saving a two year olds life when a train slammed into a minivan. His parents didn’t have enough time to remove him before the train hit. All are approved by the National Highway Transportation Safety Assoc.
