Compass Strollers and Car Seats
Compass is a company operating out of Columbia, Maryland that specializes in baby strollers and seats. Many of these strollers are classics, with spacious storage containers, reclining seats which allow your baby to sleep while you're out on an errand and strong, durable components.
Take, for example, the Wisp stroller. The Wisp is loaded with features, including two levels of storage so you can bring whatever you need to when you're out with the baby, a front swivel wheel you can lock for times when you want to run or jog with the stroller, rear brakes and a large canopy to protect your baby from overexposure to sunlight and other environmental hazards. The canopy comes complete with a window so your baby can peek out at the world as she's rolling along.
Then there's the Wave, which is one of the most heavy-duty strollers you could buy. A child could weigh up to fifty pounds and still use this stroller easily. The seat of the Wave is shaped like a bassinet when a baby is riding, but can easily transform into a "big boy" or "big girl" seat if your toddler is going to climb aboard. Maybe the most exciting feature of the Wave is a little handle you can twist, which turns the child's seat all the way around so the two of you can face one another.
A newer product from Compass that's on its way to becoming a classic is the side-impacted Via infant car seat, with its easy-to-use and easy-to-adjust safety harness. You can snap the Via seat into the car seat base that comes with it, or use this seat without the base. The Via seat can also be inserted into the Wisp stroller for use, as long as your child weighs between five and thirty-five pounds. One of the elements that makes the Via seat especially safe is a special technology that Compass has developed called the Rebound Energy Management handle. In the event that another car collides into yours, this technology helps to limit a child's "rebounding" movement, which can be quite dangerous.
And if you're ever traveling in or around Columbia, Maryland, it's well worth a visit to the Compass headquarters. There you'll find an enormous (6,000 square feet) store for baby supplies and a call center for customers, in addition to their home offices and a huge warehouse.
