We Understand You

We apologize if you are looking for a more formal company profile.  But we thought you might like to really know a little bit about us.  Between the two owners of Stroller Depot Stores, we have 8 children ranging in age from 14 years to 3 years of age (plus a pending adoption of a little girl from China).  Included in that group is a set of triplets.  So we understand a bit about raising children-the joys and the difficulties-and how important the right products and information can be in our fast paced world.  So how did it all begin?

The Search

In the mid 1990's, Rosanne Pitzer, mother of two, a registered nurse and former cardiac drug sales representative for Merck, had difficulty finding a product she had seen called the Sit'n'Stroll.  With her husband Grant-a pilot for Delta Airlines-she would travel often with her child and had seen another passenger with this brilliant car seat stroller combination.  After tracking down the Sit'n'Stroll and using it extensively in her travels, Rosanne fell in love with the product and decided to find a way to make the Sit'n'Stroll more available to other families.  She met with the manufacturers of the Sit'n'Stroll for help.  The result ... A Company is Born

With the advent of this great new technology called the internet, Rosanne began her website in 1998 featuring the Sit'n'Stroll.  However, she soon learned there were many other strollers not readily available to families in their local areas and began offering a wide selection of products from both well known and lesser known manufacturers.  Operations began in her basement with the help of family members.  UPS and other carriers delivered and picked up products on a daily basis.  Her basement filled as she added new brands.  Soon, running the Company became overwhelming.  After the tragedy of September 11th, Rosanne decided she would no longer maintain the hours required to run the Company and that her children need more of her.  She turned for help to those who had helped her get started.

Built on Service

With new resources, the Company moved out of Rosanne's basement and into a full facility.  Customer service representatives were hired, accounting systems were established and web features were added.  During the process, Rosanne insisted the Company always provide the level of caring and service to customers that were key to her early success.

Today

Today, the Company has moved from its humble basement beginnings to a 14,000 square foot facility.  In 2005, the Company launched 4 sister sites to StrollerDepot - EducatingBaby, CarseatDepot, NurseryStation and BabyCaboose - to provide a complete selection of juvenile products and a more complete shopping experience for our customers.  From one product and one manufacturer, Stroller Depot Stores today carries more than 3,000 products from more than 60 brands.  See our complete list of brands. To this day, we still remain one of the largest distributors of the Sit'n'Stroll.

For years, we have specialized in hard to find double strollers, triple strollers and even quadruple strollers.  From umbrella strollers, to travel systems, to jogging strollers and European prams, we carry the products and accessories you are trying to find.  Now with the launch of our sister sites, we also carry car seats, cribs, bedding, furniture, rocking chairs, educational products, bath items, feeding items, diaper bags, bicycle trailers, soft carriers, frame carriers, mattresses and so much more.
