When buying car seats, it is important to realize that a newborn has different needs than a child that weighs about 20 pounds. Before this size, the baby is unable to support his head and must be in a rear facing seat positioned at a 45 degree angle to be safe in a collision. After this time, baby is alert enough to want to face the other passengers in the car and look out the windows. Some seats are capable of using as both front and rear facing, and others are not. Be sure to know what your needs are and which type you are getting before making your purchase. Fantastic options, tons of color selections and additional safety features, such as padding, are available on some models. Make sure the car seat or multiple car seats fit well in the back seat of your car.
